I found this good MIDI vs HID description:
http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/HIDvsMIDI.html

@Avid: Is it because Torq doesnt have HID? And will HID come in a future version?

Yes there is still sticker drift in Torq 2.0.3. I have tested the VCI 300 with Itch and there is no sticker drift.

I have tested the NS6 with Itch and there is no sticker drift.

I believe all other controllers that work with Itch or Traktor have no sticker drift.

I hope Avid recognizes this and I hope this is at the top of there to do list.

@JAT! YES!!! Exactly! ALL other dj controllers on the market WORKS!
Torq is the only software that doenst work.
But vote on the IdeaScale to let them know that this should have HIGHEST priority!

Hi Derajj,

1) Is it working/fixed with the new 2.0.3?
No sticker drift still there with all but S4, I tested with Xponent, NS6 and S4

2) Is scratching working without sticker drift with S4 together with Torq?
It is not working at all with S4

3) Do you know how to setup S4 together with Torq?

I don't know but I really would like to.
I am looking it up on how to....oh Avid....why are you guys sooo hopelesssssssssss......

Hi There Loop :)
Sorry for the late reply.
I just tried it today and I am really disappointed with Avid and Torq....

I am gonna go with Traktor 2 and S4.
I also have these options now, Virtual DJ Pro/S4 or NS6 with Virtual DJ Pro 7 or Serato Itch.
Virtual DJ is coming up with vdj8 and Itch will get video support soon.... I hope.

Traktor 2 and S4 is super tight, there is also denon SC3900 coming out soon

after all this time I think finally its time I give up hoping on Avid and Torq....Bye Bye.
Maybe when all is fixed and on par with the competition.
Didn't you guys at Avid hire a team of pro highly capable people to fix all those stuff in Torq?
What a waste of money, effort and most importantly time.

Good luck guys all the best. I will keep in touch.

Hi Deraji,

Ya, I have tested most of it...:

Status march 2012:

1: Its true that all other dj controllers with hardware and software on the marked today has no problems with scratch sticker drift!
2: Unfortunately no dj hardware controller on the marked works with Torq without scratch sticker drift.
3: Avid have a ABSOLUTELY-NO-INFORMATION-policy that means they better keep all their customers waiting for years without any indication at all that might could make them stay on Torq & Xponent.
4: Unfortunately Traktor 2 and Kontrol S4 is also not without problems!!!
E.g.:
- it doesnt work under Windows 7 on many laptops if you dont disable all network cards in the device manager!
- it doesnt work on some Win XP Pro SP3, even if its highly audio optimized laptops like form the Frost Audio Computing company, unless you get a new unreleased driver from Avid, that is not public!
- and yes, it also has several bugs.. like Torq.

But at least now, after several months of hard work.. I have a system that can play!! Yah actually.. YEARS!!! ...And where the scratchwheels work..
OMG!

But I STILL have a little HOPE.. that Avid/Torq team will fix the scratchwheels problems and loop problems and put on some more cuepoints..
THEN Torq/Xponent will STILL be the COOLEST DJ-controller & most intuitive, userfriendly & creative DJ tool!
