|
|
This guide will provide some basic troubleshooting tips and useful links to help you identify and solve the issue(s) you may be experiencing; as well as assist you in posting the information necessary for others to assist you.
1. What version of Torq are you running? If it's not the latest version - 1.04 (XP/OS X) or 1.0.5 (Vista) - then uninstall your current version, download the latest version, and install it BEFORE you ask about any problem you're having. There are some SIGNIFICANT changes in the Torq software with these updates and your problem 'might' not exist with the latest version!
2. It is imperative that you setup your computer for running audio applications effectively. This is especially true in the case of Windows XP and Vista. Windows XP users should apply the universally-recommended system tweaks. Windows Vista users should follow this optimization guide. There are also tips to optimize OS X.
3. If you are experiencing problems that affect audio playback, try using the Conectiv with a different program such as iTunes or Windows Media Player. Test your speakers and headphones on the Conectiv and on your DJ Mixer to help isolate the problem. Windows users should test the Conectiv on all USB ports; MacBook and MacBook Pro users should make sure they're using the recommended usb port(s).
4. If you are having problems with one deck when using external control, test both of your decks on both inputs to determine if the problem is with your deck, or with the input on the Conectiv.
5. Please check the FAQ's on M-Audio's Knowledge Base for Torq , Conectiv, and Xponent; and be sure to check out the FREE Tutorial Videos.
For those users whose Conectiv is exhibiting a faint static drone and associated cycling noises that are exclusive to the 3/4 output channels (Output pair “B”), with the majority of the noises occurring on the right (4th) output channel, see this thread.
Be patient when waiting for a solution. Remember, this is a “user to user” forum, not live chat support. The people helping you out with your problems here (even the moderators) are other users like yourself who are volunteering their time to help build this community. If you need to speak to someone immediately, contact M-Audio Tech Support.
If you are experiencing a problem, please post as much detail as possible and include the troubleshooting steps already taken. There is a thread regarding the need for accurate information to troubleshoot problems. The more information you provide, the greater the likelihood that we can solve your problem. Telling us that Torq "doesn't work" is not a problem. Telling us that "Torq locks up when you try to move to the iTunes database" is a problem. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, be descriptive. The more detail you provide, the better the chances that someone will be able to help you find a solution.
Remember, always try the search feature before posting a new topic. Someone may have already posted the same problem; and the thread may contain the steps to fix it!
