Ok.. I must first point out, this is completely unofficial and something I just decided to make in my spare time and should not at be linked to M-Audio/Synchroscience. Its also a work in progress so not all of it will work.

I wanted to create a colour scheme for Torq but going through changing the numeric RGB values is quite time consuming and there is no way to preview it as your doing it. So when you come to test, you save the text file, switch the skin to another and then back to the one you modified, taking quite a bit of time if you're constantly tweaking it. So what I thought I'd do is start about making some kind of visual editor for creating your own colour themes.

How to use the colorSchemer
1. Select the element you want to change the colour of by clicking on it. As you rollover the various elements you'll see the "Current Element" box tell you which one you're on

2. Once you've clicked a colour pallet will appear and allow you to select the colour for the element. Once you've selected it the element will automatically change colour.

3. When you're done making the colour changes you want, click the "Copy to clipboard" button. This will copy all the code needed for the current theme to the clipboard.

4. Open you're text editor (notepad on PC, simpletext on Mac, or any simple text editor) and paste the code in. Then save the theme as "mytheme.tsk" where mytheme can be whatever you want to call it.

5. Place this theme in your skins directory of Torq
PC: C:\Documents and Settings\(Your user name)\Applications\M-Audio\Torq\Skins directory.
Mac: Libary > Application Support > M-Audio > Torq > Skins

6. Select the Skin in the prefs for Torq and your done!

If you happen to make the colour unusable to the state where you can't see the function controls over the interface, simply close the program open your theme file and copy&paste the default colour scheme (default.tsk) into it and save. When you load it up it'll then look like it first did and enable you to then select a different skin if you wish. DO NOT change the default one though, always keep that there as a backup.

Version 0.4
- More elements added:
UIMenu, UILabels, UIText, UIMenuText, UIMenuTextHighlight, WindowText, NormalButtonsGroup, MIDILearnHighlight, KnobOutline.
- Save file fixed

Version 0.3
- SAVE THEME FILE! : You now no longer have to fiddle about with copying and pasting into a text file. Just click the new "Download Theme" button and it will wisk up your theme file for you. It'll name it with a numeric name but you can always rename it once you've downloaded it :D

Version 0.2
- Fixed Palette: Palette set to show on screen all the time allowing you to select an element and then keep changing the colour until its the right one
- RGB values : Next to the palette are now the RGB values which you can manually edit and then apply by clicking the SET button. When you click on an element it'll also show you the RGB values.
- Code removed : No need for it, just press the "copy code to clipboard" button and then you'll have it.

Version 0.1
This is the first release of it so it doesn't have all the functionality that it should have and is definatly still in testing but you're welcome to have a play around with it. So far the elements you can change are:

WindowGradientStart, WindowGradientEnd, DeckAGroup , DeckBGroup, DeckAWaveformGroup, DeckBWaveformGroup, DeckInactiveGroup, ButtonGroup, ButtonInactiveGroup, HotIndicatorGroup, CoolIndicatorGroup, GlobalButtonsGroup, ActiveButtonsGroup, EnabledButtonsGroup, SamplePlayGroup, UIWindow, SmallWaveformBack, BigWaveformBack

If you're not sure what these are, check out this post by Veeence who has the definition on most of the elements in Torq:
http://www.torq-dj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=77

Future Additions
Well of course high on my list is to get all the elements in there. Also a tidy up and smartern up of the interface as it was chucked together really quickly while I had the idea. I'll should also be able to add a button where it will automatically create the skin file for you.

Anyway, let me know what you think. Its there to test at the moment so I can't guarentee it'll fully work but its a work in progress so let me know how you get on with it if you decide to try it out :D

great idea and already a very impressive ergonomic tool. this makes designing torq to match your own ideas very easy. big up!

i would like to see rgb fields in the color picker to change colors manually by number.

Yes, I think one of the improvements will be a drop down box/menu on the right allowing you to select an element that way, then having the colour palette always on show along with RGB boxes.

Who knows, could even build in something that could save themes online to create a gallery of them!

Brilliant.
It's user created content like this that comes as the Torq community and this forum increase in size.

Thanks for the work!

haha no prob guys. I do these kind of things as a day job (I'm a professional web designer) and just thought it'd be a good solution to make colour schemes. Will continue to develop and update it but will post here when I do. Any suggestions just post em :D

Well I'm gonna fix the colour pallete to the right hand side so that once you've selected an item you can then change the colour several times until you find the right one without having to reselect each time. Undo will also be in the works too. I don't have the code for those themes though, just bashed them together quickly and took screen grabs. Once I've added more components I'll start posting colour schemes up, probably as packs.

Cheers for the comments though guys, makes it worth doing it if its useful to peeps :D
